Jeremy Ringewald, M.D.

About

Dr. Ringewald was born and raised in the Chicago, Illinois area. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Illinois. He completed his pediatric residency in 1997 at The Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital /Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2000, he completed his general pediatric cardiology fellowship at The Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University. The following year Dr. Ringewald completed an additional fellowship in pediatric interventional cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Ringewald spent his first three years following training at the Children’s Hospital at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was the state’s first pediatric interventional cardiologist and performed many Oklahoma state firsts including the first transcatheter device closure for atrial septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus, and ventricular septal defect.

In 2004, Dr. Ringewald moved to the Children’s Hospital at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He served as Co-Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and contributed to several Federal Drug Administration trials involving the clinical testing of new devices and medications. In Charleston he also served as the medical director of the heart transplant program. Under his leadership the program expanded in size and complexity, and performed the first Berlin Heart (ventricular assist device) implantation in the Carolinas.

Dr. Ringewald moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2009. His primary clinical interest is pediatric and adult congenital cardiac catheterization.

He is board certified in pediatric cardiology.
