CPAP Trials
If a child has had a sleep study and been diagnosed with sleep apnea, the caregivers may be invited to bring the child to the center for a CPAP trial. A CPAP trial is designed to help the child get accustomed to a CPAP machine before their overnight sleep study. The CPAP machine aids the child in breathing better at night. During the trial, the child will try on a mask made specifically for kids. The trial will begin with the CPAP machine at the lowest setting to determine which mask feels most comfortable for the child. This approach aims to make the child feel more at ease during the sleep study, ensuring the entire experience is smoother and less stressful.
