It’s normal to experience cramping after sex so long as its mild and occasional. There are many causes, one of them being a tilted uterus. A retroverted uterus is tipped backwards toward the rectum rather than forwards toward the abdomen, which can cause added pressure during sex. That could lead to cramping or discomfort, especially with deeper penetrative positions, said Rebecca Keith, M.D., a board-certified OBGYN at OB Hospitalists of Kentucky, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group. If certain positions make you crampy, try moving on top so you can control how deep things go, recommended Dr. Keith.
