Baptist Children’s Center at North Baptist in San Antonio, Texas provides the highest level neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for specialized newborn care. Led by Brent Reyburn, D.O., neonatologist and NICU medical director, a comprehensive team of five neonatologists, nurse practitioners and therapists care for the tiniest and sickest babies. “We are prepared if mom has preeclampsia or diabetes,” said Dr. Reyburn. “If the baby’s heart rate slows and we need to do an emergency C-section, our team of specially trained nurses and neonatologists are available 24 hours a day.”
