ADHD Medication Shortage

Methylphenidate, the attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication sold under the brand names Ritalin and Concerta among others, has been in short supply for months. "The dominoes are falling," said Karen Keough, M.D., a pediatric neurologist and medical director at Pediatrix® Specialty Care of Austin. Her staff is working with patients to determine which pharmacy has which drugs and then attempt to get a prescription there before the supply runs out. "There doesn't seem to be an obvious solution," said Dr. Keough said. "There's no indication there's an end to this."
