New mom Thelma Chiaka celebrated a special Mother’s Day with not one, not two but six newborns! The sextuplets were born on March 15 at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston with the help of Dr. Ziad Haidar, MEDNAX-affiliated maternal-fetal medicine specialist, and his team. “She was a champion, because she kept her smile until the last minute,” said Dr. Haidar. “It wasn’t an easy pregnancy on her but she did wonderful.” He reflects on the successful delivery as a combined effort – “it was great teamwork and I’m very proud to be part of it.”
