There are some common mistakes you might be making that can prevent you from getting the best possible care at your annual gynecologist visit. This includes everything from being dishonest about your sexual history to forgetting to mention any medications or supplements you take. "The medications and supplements you take can have a huge impact on your health," said Suzanne Bovone, M.D., a board-certified OBGYN at Obstetrics and Gynecology of San Jose, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group, which is why your gynecologist will ask you if you're currently taking anything. "We have to know the details to best care for you," said Dr. Bovone. Since you may unintentionally forget, it’s helpful to prepare a list in advance that you can bring to your appointment.
