David Kanter, M.D., MBA, CPC

David Kanter, M.D., MBA, CPC, is board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and serves as senior vice president for Medical Administrative Services for Pediatrix® Medical Group. In this role, he oversees the Medical Coding Department and departments that provide onboarding, credentialing and provider-enrollment services on behalf of our clinicians. Dr. Kanter joined Pediatrix Medical Group in 1996 and transitioned to his corporate administrative roles in 2010.

Dr. Kanter attended undergraduate and medical school at Indiana University and completed his pediatric residency at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After completing neonatology fellowship training at the University of California San Diego, he assumed medical directorship of an extensive neonatology practice in West Palm Beach, Florida. He also holds an MBA from the University of Florida and is a certified professional coder.

Dr. Kanter is a member of the Committee on Coding and Nomenclature of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the AAP Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Coding Committee and the AAP coding publications editorial board. He is also a member of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) CPT Editorial Panel and the AMA’s Digital Medicine Payment Advisory Group. Dr. Kanter has appointments at both Florida State University and Nova Southeastern University as a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics.
