Michael R. Gomez, MD

Dr. Michael R. Gomez serves as the Chief Clinical Advisor for the Clinical Services Division at Pediatrix. In this role, he is responsible for guiding the organization’s medical direction, overseeing clinical policies and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. He works closely with the Legal and Compliance Departments to maintain adherence to health care regulations and also leads the Pediatrix Center for Research, Education, Quality and Safety.

Dr. Gomez brings extensive leadership experience, having previously held various practice leadership positions within Pediatrix and served as Chief Medical Officer at Orlando Health.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, completed his pediatric residency at Columbia Presbyterian Babies Hospital and fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Gomez holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University and is a certified physician executive and fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
