Dr. Rebecca Mischel received her fellowship training in neonatology at University of California, San Francisco, California, and joined the group in July 1997. Dr. Mischel is board-certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Mischel serves as the neonatal section chair and NICU quality co-chair at Randall Children’s Hospital (RCH), Database Chair at Legacy Randall Children's Hospital and Salmon Creek NICUs, physician lead for the RCH NICU Post-Partum Mood Disorder Screening & Referral program and Babies With Books programs, physician leader and trainer for Error Prevention at RCH, provides support to physicians via Legacy’s Peer Support program and serves as the NICU liaison with the Legacy Foundation. As Chief Medical Officer for Northwest Newborn Specialists, P.C., Dr. Mischel works to support physician growth and well-being. Her areas of clinical interest include long-term health and neurodevelopmental outcomes of NICU graduates, population health, evidence-based medicine and quality improvement
