Stephen T. Vermillion, M.D. is a board-certified OBGYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist who grew up in coastal Virginia. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. After fellowship, he joined the faculty at Medical University of South Carolina where he served as an Associate Professor and participated on several committees with American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He has published 40+peer-review articles primarily in the areas of prematurity, critical care obstetrics and infectious diseases in obstetrics.  More recently, he practiced maternal-fetal medicine with the Medical Group of the Carolinas in South Carolina before moving to Athens, Georgia. In his spare time, he enjoys rooting for the Dawgs, surfing, snorkeling, fly-fishing, and attending music festivals with his wife Melisa and their three daughters. He is excited to be a part of the Athens community!
