James Davis, M.D.

Dr. Davis grew up in Boston five blocks from Fenway Park, and received a BA in History from Harvard College. He then spent three years studying medical ethics in Israel before graduating from Harvard Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, including a two years research fellowship at the William Lehman Injury Research Center at the University of Miami. Dr. Davis came to Dallas for his pediatric surgery fellowship at Children's Medical Center at UT Southwestern, where he developed special interests and expertise in neonatal laparoscopy and thoracoscopy. Dr. Davis maintains an active interest in trauma and surgical outcomes research with over 40 publications. He and his wife Stephanie have four children who are being raised as avid Boston sports fans. He is always happy to discuss basketball, running, reading, history, and medical ethics.
