After much anticipation, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are now available for children under the age of 5. Now, parents must decide which option is best for their child. “Both vaccines use similar vaccine mRNA technology and work with similar effectiveness,” said Zachary Hoy, M.D., a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Pediatrix® Nashville Pediatric Infectious Disease. “Neither one seems overall better; the determination will most likely be which vaccines are available in your area.”
