About

Since 1994, Dr. Atkins is board-certified in pediatric infectious diseases who has been practicing in the San Antonio area for over 20 years. She received her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her residency and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine. She specializes in the treatment of infants and children with complicated and life-threatening infections. Dr. Atkins has been on staff at Methodist Children’s Hospital since 2001 and serves as the medical director for infection control and antibiotic stewardship.
