Born in Glasgow, Scotland, and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Kenneth Murdison received a BSc with honors in biochemistry at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. He remained there to complete his medical degree at the Queen’s University School of Medicine, graduating in 1984.

From there, Dr. Murdison completed his pediatric residency at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, and subsequently traveled to Philadelphia, where he undertook a three-year fellowship program in pediatric cardiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which he completed in 1990. He then returned to Canada at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the University of Ottawa, where he began a 34-year career in academic pediatric cardiology medicine.

After leaving Canada in 1994, Dr. Murdison served as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He was later recruited as faculty at Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine during his tenure at A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. While at A. I. DuPont, he performed hundreds of cardiac catheterizations, participated in clinical trials of devices that are now used routinely and cared for children with some of the most complex cardiac defects. In 2007, he was recruited to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he served as Professor of Pediatrics. For many years, he was the Acting Director and, most recently, the Director of Pediatric Cardiology and Co-Director of the Congenital Heart Center. Dr. Murdison has authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and has been recognized as an exemplary teacher at the Medical College of Georgia.

When he is not working, Dr. Murdison enjoys spending time at home with his wife and two cockapoos and playing golf with friends. He has three sons and daughters-in-law and five grandchildren.
