Dr. Frank M. Robertson attended the University of Delaware where he received a Bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology (with distinction). He received his medical degree in 1985 from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Robertson next completed his training in general surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center from 1985 to 1991. This included a year at the Army Institute of Surgical Research Burn Center. He then completed a fellowship in surgical critical care medicine in 1993. Following this, Dr. Robertson began his pediatric surgery training in Boston at New England Medical Center, completing his fellowship in 1995. Starting in 1996, Dr. Robertson served as the Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, ending his 14 years of active duty service with the US Army in 1999.

Dr. Robertson is board certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has over 50 publications and presentations to his credit.
