Dr. Stephen Morrow received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. After medical school, he served his internship in general surgery at the Naval Regional Medical Center (NRMC) in San Diego, California, and then entered the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Florida, to become a naval flight surgeon. He enjoyed a 2-year tour flying a variety of naval aircraft with Carrier Air Wing Thirteen aboard USS Coral Sea. Dr. Morrow returned to NRMC to finish his general surgery residency, followed by a laboratory research fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and a pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Following his retirement from the U.S. Navy Medical Corps in 2005, Dr. Morrow joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine serving as Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery and Director of the pediatric trauma program at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt until leaving to start Nashville Pediatric Surgery in 2013. Dr. Stephen Morrow is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgical Association and is a member of the Nashville Surgical Society. He is married to the former Remy L. Lewis and has two children. He enjoys spending his free time with his family, serves as a deacon in his church and is a competitive triathlete.
