Kenneth Shaffer, M.D.

Dr. Shaffer received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at the Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center. He completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine - Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Before joining the Children’s Cardiology Associates team (now Pediatric & Congenital Cardiology Associates), he served as a faculty member at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Recently he returned to University of Texas in Austin to complete his health information technology certification.
Dr. Shaffer is board certified in pediatric cardiology. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. He serves as Co-Director of Cardiology Quality and Safety for Pediatrix Cardiology and on multiple workgroups and committees within the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. In March of 2019, Dr. Shaffer began his tenure as President of the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and sits on the national ACC on the Board of Governors.
